About Us
Snowslide WFM is a 10 person module located in McCall, Idaho on the Payette National Forest in Region 4. The crew formed from a 5 person IA squad and a type six engine after the 2007 fires burned much of their protection area where they were stationed in the historic town of Warren. The two crews moved to McCall and were joined up as a Fire Management Module called Crew Four. In 2013 the crew was officially converted to a Type II Wildland Fire Module and named Snowslide. In Spring 2017, the module attained the qualifications and experience for Type I status.
Our Mission
To provide a versatile, self-sufficient, light and fast resource to complete a wide variety of tasks in support of any type of fire management objectives. We strive to provide the highest quality work in any assignment no matter how typical or unique. We believe that success in a wide variety of assignments is achieved by being flexible, innovative, and willing to tackle unfamiliar problems. In pursuit of this mission we emphasize fire management basics and leadership development for all members of the crew and seek out motivated, independent individuals to build our team.
Our Vision
To see the increased understanding and use of fire to support a variety of land management objectives.
